FAQ
x
What size is this sandal?
small, 10.25 by 12.2 inches, packed 20 pairs to a case at roughly 20 pounds.
What do I actually print?
The footbed, which is the flat upper surface. The strap and the sole are not printable, so all the design work happens on one flat panel per foot.
How do I press a sandal?
Flat press at medium pressure with a protective sheet. Press each foot separately, and remember that a pair needs mirrored artwork if the design is directional.
What temperature and time should I press this at?
As a recommended starting point, most of our blanks press between 370°F and 400°F, with time depending on how thick and dense the blank is. These are recommended settings only, not fixed rules. Temperature and time work against each other: a hotter press needs less time and a cooler one needs more. Every heat press runs a little differently, so press one test piece and adjust for your machine. Our sublimation time and temperature chart lists settings for 20 blank types.
What is the most common mistake?
Forgetting that a pair reads as two feet side by side. A design pressed identically on both looks wrong when worn, so mirror it or build the artwork as a left and right pair.
Why did the footbed distort?
Too much heat or pressure on a rubber base. Rubber compresses and does not recover, so a distorted footbed is a reject even with a good print.
Who buys sandal blanks?
Wedding and bachelorette party favor businesses, resort and spa retail, and custom apparel sellers. Pink blanks for awareness and fundraiser merchandise
When do orders peak?
Spring and summer, heavily. Bachelorette and wedding season from April through September, plus resort and spa retail. Demand outside summer is a fraction of it. Sublimation tote bags: which blank to stock
What sells on sandals?
Names, wedding dates, bridal party roles and resort branding. It is a gift and a uniform item rather than a retail purchase.
What does a case contain and weigh?
20 pairs at roughly 20 pounds. What to compare when choosing a blanks supplier
Where does it ship from?
Fremont, CA and Shepherdsville, KY.
