Plates

Sublimation plate blanks are 8 in and 10 in ceramic and porcelain plates that sell as commemorative and display pieces rather than tableware, which is where the pricing works. Memorial gift sellers, churches, schools and Etsy shops buy them by the case at about $3.86 to $6.19 per plate, and Photo USA is one of the best places to buy plate blanks wholesale.

What's in this collection

• 10 in decorative plate with gold trim and stand, 24 per case at $148.52, about $6.19 each.
• 10 in plate without gold rim, 24 per case at $130.04, about $5.42 each.
• 8 in ceramic plate with double gold rim, 36 per case at $138.84, about $3.86 each.
• 8 in porcelain coupe plate, no stand, 36 per case at $164.48, about $4.57 each.

Gold trim or plain: which plate to start with

Gold trim reads as commemorative. The plain rim and the porcelain coupe read as modern tableware. They are different products for different buyers, not two grades of one thing.

• Memorial and anniversary gifts: the 10 in gold trim plate, which arrives with a stand for display.
• Churches, schools and clubs: 10 in plates for recognition awards and fundraisers.
• Etsy holiday gifts: the 8 in double gold rim for Christmas cookie plates.
• Home decor and food brands: the porcelain coupe for modern photo and recipe plates.

Metallic trim must never go in a microwave. Put that in your own listing, because customers assume any plate is microwave safe.

How much can you make

There is no reliable market range for printed plates, but many sublimation sellers price finished pieces at 2.5 to 3 times their total cost. For example, a $6.19 gold trim plate plus about $1.50 of ink and labor costs about $7.69, so a 3 times price is near $23.

Holiday ordering and 2026 trends

Christmas cookie plates and family photo plates are seasonal sellers. Order by early November, and before December at the latest. Decorated holiday tables are a 2026 trend, so sell plates with matching coasters as a table set, and offer a plate as a host gift for Friendsmas, holiday parties with friends.
