Matte or glossy, and which size to start with

Glossy holds more color and reads closer to a photo print, so it suits travel, landscape and family photos. Matte is the traditional stone look and suits memorial work. Etsy beginners: the 5.85 in square, the lowest cost slate. Photographers: the 7.2 x 11.7 in glossy as a portrait session upsell. Pet gift sellers: the 7.2 in square. Slate edges are natural, so every piece differs, and that is a selling point worth stating.
