Why does every piece look slightly different?
Each slate is natural stone, handcrafted with chiseled beveled edges, so no two are identical. Note that in your own listing, because it is a natural feature customers can mistake for a defect.
Will images look darker than on a tile?
Slightly. Stone absorbs more than gloss ceramic, so high contrast images hold up better than subtle low contrast ones. Test one piece from every new case.
