These are recommended settings only, not fixed rules. Temperature and time work against each other: a hotter press needs less time and a cooler one needs more. Does the lid come off before pressing?
Yes. Remove the clear lid and any seal before heat. Plastic lids warp at transfer temperature and cannot be reshaped.
